WORKAMPERS NEEDED!
Are you interested in workamping? For the 2008 season we will be looking for 1-2 workamper couples to be available from the beginning or mid May through the end of September. You will receive a full hook up site in exchange for 20 hours per week/per couple. We are looking for people who are friendly, outgoing and healthy as well as dependable, flexible and able to work alone/self starters! Duties include bathroom cleaning, patrolling (security) on the golf cart a few evenings a week, light maintenance and repair, reservations/registration, store duty, as well as working ice cream socials and/or other special events. We are going to do our first Halloween week in Sept. 2008 and will need help with planning/running the events. We will give you the same days off. Some evenings required and weekends are a must (although you may get some weekends off completely). We do use a computer registration system so familiarity with computers is preferred. You can email us your resume at sbreeze@charter.net or fax it to 906-774-7701 or mail it to W8576 Twin Falls Rd, Iron Mountain, MI 49801.

WELCOME!
Welcome to our Blog! We wanted to have a place where you could come to see the up to date info on what's going on at the campground, in the area, and just general stuff! We hope you enjoy it and find it informative and we hope that you decide to come camp with us in the future!
Currently we are just a little more than 2 weeks away from opening day - which is May 1, 2007! We are excited about starting the camping season because that should mean that summer is coming.....I say should mean, because we are currently getting snow! We've had cold weather for the last few weeks, in the 30 degree range. We have only an inch or two of the white stuff on the ground but I am so ready for it to be gone!
Camp news: We started to work on the bathrooms this winter. Our first ordeal was scraping the paint off the concrete floors which has become a feat of almost near impossibility! And due to other projects that have come up and the time it has taken we will not have the floors done for this season (the bathrooms will be fully functional though). Actually we managed only to get the showers down to bare concrete and the first 2 layers of paint off the men's floor. So please excuse the floors. Next year the bathrooms should be completely redone! Our other camp project that we undertook in the fall was putting in a hiking trail throughout the back of the property. It has been "roughed" in but we still have more work to do on it if we can ever get rid of the cold and snow! Other things on the burners are working on upgrading the electric to 50 amp service in more campsites which we also hope to get working on once the ground thaws, putting in at least one camping cabin this year, repainting the pool prior to it's opening which won't be until Memorial Day, and doing some landscaping which we also cannot start until we get rid of winter!
New Programs this year! We will be having an ice cream social weekly on Saturday nights running from Memorial Day through Labor Day.
Camper Garage Sale/Bake Sale/Craft Sale: July 13 and 14th (hours to be determined). Each camper will be allowed to sell their "stuff" at their site. We are entertaining the option of putting an ad in the paper for this and letting the community come as well....please post any thoughts on this.
More to come.....
